Over the years Nollywood has made many films. Most of these films are being shot digitally and some are exceeding budgets of $340,000 to produce says New York City Liberian film director Devin Gibson, who is going to be making his first Nollywood film in America.

Most African films lack those high production values we are used to seeing in American Hollywood films, says the young director. Devin intends to bring a change to the African movie industry by creating a film with an all African cast. Devin is creatng a diffrent visual apprcoach to tell his story then other filmmakers in Nollowood use.In 2006 Devin started his own film company Cinefilms Entertainment, where he  has directed and produced many American short films. Devin studied film production in school and since then has proved that he has what it takes to make a cinematic African film that his fellow Africans as well as Americans will enjoy.

The film is titled FAILED DREAMS and will be released sometime in December of 2008.The film tells a story of three brothers from West Africa Liberia, they were sent to America by their mother who didn’t want them to be caught in the civil war that was taking place in Liberia. When the three bothers arrive to America, all of their dreams and goals of becomming successful quickly runs out the door. The boys get exposed to drugs and a deadly gang system that eventualy takes over their once positive lives.

Devin said he wrote this story based on true events, that he himself has seen happen many times while growing up in the Parkhill Projects of Staten Island NY.I think many Africans are going to relate to my story because it’s true say’s Devin who’s films and writing style are known for raising tears, he says this film is going to be a serious tear jerker.
