Essential Business Stationery
When buying office stationery it’s tempting to go a bit nuts and buy things you ‘think you might need in the future’; well let us tell you, if you don’t need them now chances are you won’t need them in the future either. There are a few office equipment items that we at Buyer Meet Seller think are an essential part of the operation of your office and you should ensure that your office is never without.
Well, let’s start with the obvious-pens. Pens, believe it or not, are pretty crucial to the smooth operation of your office. The most annoying thing about pens is that you can never find one when you need one, or if you do find one, it just so happens that it’s run out. How frustrating. Perhaps you’re on the phone securing a deal and you need to quickly scribble down some important information-it’s helpful if there’s a working pen nearby; similarly perhaps you’ve got a potential customer in the office, they’re really impressed with what you’ve proposed and they’re about to sign the order and you can’t find a pen-or worse, you hand them a dog eared, chewed up pen. It doesn’t create a good impression does it? Office Stationery suppliers can provide you with most types of pen-from biros, to fountain pens, to ink balls. You should always make sure that you’ve got a decent supply of pens as they have an uncanny knack of going missing!
Secondly, another important office item is the humble stapler. There is nothing worse than being caught without one, and, believe it or not they’re quite often overlooked when it comes to ordering stationery. When you’re buying a stapler from office stationery suppliers try not to go for the cheapest option-they tend to be very small (i.e. easily misplaced) and can usually only staple together two or three sheets-anymore than that and you’re fighting a losing battle. Your best bet is to order a stapler that can handle at least 30-40 sheets, they’re bigger than their 2-3 sheet capacity counterparts so they’re much less likely to be lost or misplaced and although they do cost a few quid more they’re less likely to break; which is reason enough to buy a quality stapler.
One thing we can’t forget is paper. Quite simply paper is perhaps one of the most used office equipment items in your office. Offices go through reams and reams of paper on a daily basis. It’s used for invoices, documentation, presentations, note taking; leaving messages for colleagues and of course we can’t forget doodling whilst on a phone call. There’s tons of different paper products available, from your standard copier paper to A4 pads and then there’s the very posh crisp paper that’s only used when you’re really trying to impress someone. You should make sure that you’ve always got a good supply of paper readily available, that way you’ll always have some when you need it.
Another useful, but often overlooked item of stationery is the hole punch. If your company does filing of any type then you’ll definitely need a hole punch. There are very few businesses that can operate effectively without filing documents at some stage and more often than not to file documents neatly you’ll need to hole punch them. Now, we’re going to along similar lines to the stapler here-DON’T buy a hole punch that only punches 3 sheets of paper at any one time. Chances are you’ll need to punch more than this and you’ll just end up with a file of paper that’s uneven-it doesn’t look great. Like the stapler, if you invest in a top quality one that can punch around 30 sheets at a time you’re on to a winner.
Of course, there are other office essentials which you probably can’t do without-but that depends on what it is you actually do in your office. The thing to remember when buying office equipment from stationery suppliers is to not cut corners-it’s false economy. Sometimes you get what you pay for and if you’re prepared to pay a few extra quid here and there you’re equipment will probably last a lot longer.
