Relationships are the key to a long lasting business. If you don’t agree with me, just take a look at the network marketing industry. In some companies, the upline has such a strong bond with the downline that if something happens to the upline, the downlines will support them all the way by bringing in more volume and more sales to help them! In some extreme cases, the downline was even willing to DIE for their upline and that shows how strong loyalty and building relationships are!
A friend of mine saw one of the uplines getting involved in a motor cycle accident. Even as he lay in a coma, his downlines were really supportive and they built the business even harder than ever! He laid in bed for 2-3 months but his commission checks were still coming in every week! And not only that, it actually GREW!
Eventually, he got out of the hospital, thanks to the products he has consumed in his network marketing opportunity.
There is also another fantastic reason why building good relationships are the way to go… the network marketing industry is filled with opportunities everywhere. And you and I know that human beings can be fickle, right? Especially in the 21st century where people are constantly bombarded with endless advertising and new websites flashing before their eyes.
If your downlines are not loyal to you, a new company who promises the moon and the skies will lure your super downline group away into your competitor’s grip. After all, wouldn’t YOU be enticed if you were given a high pin/position in a company who will brand you as their ‘001’ (ground floor opportunity or the pioneer of a new company).
You must be very clear about one thing, my friend. The things that you see on the surface is just that – superficial and without substance. Your downlines may sing your praises when they are in the same company with you, but if you do not have their respect or their admiration in their hearts, they will backstab you the moment they switch to another company (while running away with all your people as well!)
I guess, people will be loyal to you if you are loyal to them first. Imagine, if you are loyal to your upline, 10 people will be loyal to you. If you are not loyal to your upline, 10 people will NOT be loyal to you. If you are superficial and ‘fake’ to your upline, wouldn’t it sound scary to have 10 downlines JUST LIKE YOU (fake, superficial and not loyal)?
So make sure you are genuine, loyal and focus on helping people – otherwise, your network could fall apart overnight.
